The New Man's Equality, Theology and Policies

Bishop R. E. Smith - on The New Man's Equality, Theology and Policies!
The Equality of the New Man is his union with Christ

He is only a New Man if he is joined to the Lord, I Corinthians 6:17
If he has been made part of the "One New Man" Ephesians 2:14-18
If the Spirit of Christ dwells in him, Romans 8:9.

The Theology of the New Man is based on Revelation, Investigation and Transformation of the Mind, Will and Emotions

The scientific and philosophical minds of discovery and reason are not good enough to produce a system of sound theology: "...I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent...Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men" I Corinthians 1:19, 25.

Religious training of the highest caliber is no guarantee of sound theology: "...Art thou a master of Israel, and knowest not these things?" John 3:10.

Being an "A" student of a minister or ministry in transition can come short of a matured and balanced theology, "...Apollos, born at Alexandria, an eloquent man, and mighty in the scriptures...was instructed in the way of the Lord; and being fervent in the spirit, he spake and taught diligently the things of the Lord, knowing only the baptism of John. And he began to speak boldly...they [Aquila and Priscilla] took him unto them, and expounded unto him the way of God more perfectly" Acts 18:24-26.

There are sincere believers in Christian service, politics and business that are the by-product of "HOW" they received Christ, and "WHO" they are being discipled by.

"As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him" Colossians 2:6.

"...continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them" II Timothy 3:14.

The Dual nature of the New Man's Policies

The policies by which the New Man lives are much higher than the policies of the general public. The difference lies in the laws that God made for the old man and the laws for the New Man. Jesus said,

"Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time" (old covenant) St. Matthew 5:21,27,31,33,38,43.

"But I say unto you" (new covenant) St. Matthew 5:22, 28, 32,34,39,44.

In making polices for the general public, the laws must be in compliance with the moral laws of God as stated by Paul.

"...the law hath dominion over a man as long as he liveth" Romans 7:1b.

"But we know that the law is good, if a man use it lawfully; Knowing this, that the law is not make for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers, For Whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind, for menstealers, for liars, for perjured persons, and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine" I Timothy 1:8-10.

This includes capital punishment, as brother Paul says of himself; "For if I be an offender, or have committed any thing worthy of death, I refuse not to die...." Acts 25:11.
